Where is Somerset Park?
Somerset Park is at 13 Tryfield Place in Ayr, South Ayrshire. The ground is Ayr United Football Club’s home stadium, and a stadium guide reports that its first match was played on 14 September 1910, ending in a 4–4 draw.
Ayr Railway Station is about a 10-minute walk from the ground.
How do you get to Somerset Park from the hotel?
Somerset Park is about a 27-minute walk or a 7-minute drive from Horizon Hotel, which offers a three-star stay. Ayr Railway Station is about a 10-minute walk from the ground.
If you’re driving, allow time to deal with matchday parking rather than assuming you can arrive just before kick-off and find a space. The club says its car park is ordinarily full about 30 minutes before kick-off. When a large crowd is expected, it may close the car park 45 minutes to one hour before kick-off.
What should you know about tickets and stadium access?
Check Ayr United’s official channels for fixtures and ticket arrangements before you travel. Ticket details can depend on the match, so confirm the relevant information with the club rather than relying on old announcements.
For wheelchair users, the Main Stand has a flat, mostly covered access area of approximately 160 square metres, with 48 spaces for wheelchair users and carers. It has a designated entrance and exit with a wide gate staffed by designated stewards during the game, as well as male and female disabled toilets.
If you need arrangements to enter or leave the Main Stand through its main door rather than the turnstiles, contact the Administration Office at least 24 hours in advance.
The club also describes three designated disabled parking spaces outside the Main Stand, two drop-off spaces outside the North Stand and two disabled bays in the lower car park. Some marked bays are held for Blue Badge holders on a first-come, first-served basis.
Visually impaired supporters can request commentary with at least 24 hours’ advance notice. The club reserves seating for four people in this area, can provide headphones and allows space for assistance dogs.
What should you plan around on matchday?
Build your arrival plan around the club’s parking guidance and any access arrangements you need. If you’re driving, arrive with enough time to account for the car park filling or closing before kick-off; for support with a specific access need, contact the club in advance.
If you’re making a day of your visit, a walkable Ayr and Alloway itinerary offers a way to plan time in town beyond the match.
Before you go, check the official site before you go: use Ayr United’s official site for match and access information, and confirm details that may affect your plans.
