Ayr Arena is the search term, but South Ayrshire Council names the venue Riverside Sports Arena, at University Avenue in Ayr. Confirm the venue and event details before setting out, since listings and arrangements can vary.
- Official venue name: Riverside Sports Arena
- Address: University Avenue, Ayr, KA8 0SZ
- Event information: Check the organiser’s current listing for the venue and practical details
Finding Ayr Arena
South Ayrshire Council gives the venue name as Riverside Sports Arena, rather than Ayr Arena. Use that official name when checking an event listing or confirming the address: University Avenue, Ayr, KA8 0SZ.
The name matters because Ayr has other event venues. Ayr Pavilion, for example, is a separate historic venue on the seafront, at Pavilion Road, Ayr, KA7 1EQ. If a listing says Pavilion Road, it refers to Ayr Pavilion rather than Riverside Sports Arena. The question of getting to the Gaiety Theatre concerns another Ayr venue.
Checking events and tickets
Check the event organiser’s listing for the venue, date, entry arrangements and ticket details before making plans. Ayr Pavilion’s programme includes live music, comedy, cultural events and community events, but its events and dates change over time.
For events at Ayr Pavilion, tickets are sold through external providers, including Skiddle and Ticket Scotland. Confirm the provider and the details for the specific event before purchasing.
Event setups can differ, too. Ayr Pavilion says its event space can be configured for standing, seated or cabaret layouts, so check the event information to understand the format. For other Ayr venues, use the venue name on the event listing to avoid mixing up locations.
How do you get to Ayr Arena?
Use University Avenue, Ayr, KA8 0SZ, as the address when planning a journey to Riverside Sports Arena. Check the organiser’s event information for any event-specific transport arrangements, and confirm the destination before travelling.
For a different venue, Ayr Pavilion is on Pavilion Road and describes itself as a short walk from Ayr town centre and Ayr station. It has an underground car park with 450 spaces nearby, as well as limited on-street parking in the surrounding area. If you drive there, check local signs for parking restrictions and charges.
Planning around an event
Build your plan around the details published for the specific event. Check where it takes place, how tickets are handled and whether the organiser provides information about arrival or local transport. These details can differ between venues and events.
If your plans involve Ayr Pavilion, its seafront location and event programme make it distinct from Riverside Sports Arena. The Pavilion’s space can be arranged for seated, standing or cabaret events, so use the event listing to confirm the format.
For other local outings, the question of how to plan a Somerset Park matchday is a separate guide to football at Somerset Park.
Before you go: Event listings and practical arrangements can change, so check the official site before you go.
If you are staying at Horizon Hotel, a hotel in Ayr, allow about 9 minutes on foot to the Gaiety Theatre. Riverside Sports Arena and Ayr Pavilion have different addresses, so check your event listing rather than relying on directions for another venue.
